INTRODUCING OUR NEW NURSERY ATTENDANT - The Staff Support and Discipleship Teams are happy to announce that the position for Hosanna Nursery Attendant has been filled. Biserka “Bisi” Tsenkova will begin work this Sunday. Bisi is a native of Bulgaria where she earned a degree in early education. She currently works at the Greenwood Christian Preschool as a 2 year old teacher. Bisi will be in the nursery this Sunday from 9 am until the end of the reception. All children 4 and under are welcome.

This Sunday, April 27 (Sixth Sunday of Easter)...
  • ONE WORSHIP SERVICE @ 10 AM. Hosanna's Choir will be performing Vivaldi’s Gloria and new members will be received SUNDAY SCHOOL @ 9-9:45 AM (NO ADULT EDUCATION).
  • Rev. Paul Frerking presides. A free-will offering is being taken to help fund this special service. Matching funds will be provided by Thrivent Financial.
  • Following the service, a reception will be held in the Narthex to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Gay Zimmerman’s commissioning as Associate in Ministry of the ELCA.

  • Sunday, May 4—Council Meeting and Matt Moore will discuss his mission trip to Sierra Leone during Sunday school hour.
  • Saturday, May 10—Hosanna Book Discussion @ 6 PM in the Hosanna Conference Room, featuring a discussion of books on the subject of polio.
  • Sunday, May 11—Pentecost (Happy Birthday to the Church!) WEAR RED! Blood Drive (look for the donor coach during worship times) and Mother's Day Car Wash. No CREW that evening.
  • Tuesday, May 13—Senior's Outing:History lessons from two local museums is the theme, with visits to theSpring Historical Museum and the Tomball Museum. Lunch is at Les Gourmet Bistro in Tomball. Cost: $5 per person + cost of lunch. Meet at church @ 9:15 AM; leave @ 9:30; return to Hosanna by 2:30 PM. Give money to either Nancy Wunsche or Dorothy Petersen.
  • May 18—Sunday School ends; Summer Sunday school begins June 1 (Volunteers are needed. Contact Amber Walker.)
  • May 25—Youth Sunday Wrapping of High School Seniors. Evan Moilan, Executive Director of Lutherhill, preaches June 1—Summer Sunday School begins. Also, summer CREW begins. All incoming members are welcome!
  • June 8-12 @ 6-8:15 PM—Summer VBS, with dinner included. (Volunteers are needed. Contact Amber Walker.)

  • Friday, Apirl 11—LAST DAY TO VOTE ON CREW'S TAJ MAHAL BUILT OF CANNED-GOODS. Stop by Willowbrook Mall and vote by dropping quarters into the "ballot box." The winner will be announced Sunday, April 13. Let's all "stuff the ballot box"!
  • Saturday, April 12—Inquirer's Retreat @ 9:30 AM-2 PM. Contact Nita Auer for information.

This Sunday, April 13 (Fourth Sunday of Easter)...

  • Fellow Hosanna member Pastor Robert Moore presides and preaches for worship services this Sunday.
  • Adult Education @ 9:30 AM presents a series of topical discussions on articles in the Lutheran magazine.
  • The congregation is invited to Andrew Greer's Eagle Court of Honor @ 4pm at Hosanna. A light supper will be served after the ceremony.
  • NAM Awards ceremony for the canned-goods structures @ 6:30 PM at Willowbrook Mall

  • Tuesday, April 15—Deadline for submitting articles for May Hotline.
  • Saturday, April 19—Hosanna Women of the ELCA Annual Spring Fling @ 9-11 AM: General meeting, entertainment and a delicious brunch prepared and served by the Men of Hosanna.
  • Saturday, April 19—Texas Lutheran University (TLU) Visit Day, beginning @ 10 AM.
  • Saturday, April 19—Progressive Dinner @ 6-10 PM. Cost: $6.00. Sign up in the north narthex. All adults and guests are welcome. Sunday, April 20 @ 12:30 PM—IMPORTANT VOTE to extend call to John Boldt to serve as Hosanna pastor. Prayfully consider your vote on this important matter.

  • Friday, April 25 @ 8 AM—7th Annual Lutherhill Golf Tournament at Longwood Golf Club, Cypress, TX. All entries must be submitted by April 21. Entry forms are available in the south entrance area. Also go to http://www.lutherhill.org/
  • Saturday, April 26—Annual Garage Sale to benefit Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM). Bring items to Hosanna beginning Sunday, April 20 and place them in Classroom 8. Sign up to help on the back of the green "welcome" insert.
  • Saturday, April 26—Vivaldi Rehearsal with orchestra @ 2:30 PM.

  • WELCA News... Thank you to all who donated items for the Hosanna Bath & Body basket which was auctioned off at the Humble-Kingwood Cancer Relay for Life. The basket sold for $100 and the relay itself raised $90,000 for cancer research. New collection baskets for WELCA donations are located in the North Narthex under the information table. Please do not remove the baskets from the table. Thank you!
