The big item that I want to call everyone’s attention to is that Bishop Blom will meet with ALL the Hosanna family Thursday, June 28 @ 7 PM. He will cover the process for calling a new pastor and answer any questions regarding the procedure. EVERYONE, AND I MEAN EVERYONE, IS INVITED. No one should miss this meeting.

This just in: Nancy Agafitei informed me that the next Book Discussion has been postponed until July due to scheduling conflicts with some of those who normally attend. The new date will be announced later.

From Nita Auer: Time to dig your name tags out of mothballs and start wearing them again, not just because we will have an interim pastor, but for visitors as well.

Also this Sunday is the Mission of the Month “noisy offering” for “Planting New Congregations.”

A Little Humor:
Here’s a couple for you this week. (My thanks to Linda Carter for this first one):
One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex standing in the church foyer staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names with small American flags mounted on either side of it.
The seven year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly: "Good morning, Alex."
"Good morning, Pastor, what is this?" he asked the pastor.
The pastor said, "Well, son, it's a memorial plaque to all the young men and women who died in the Service."
Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally, little Alex's voice, barely audible and trembling with fear, asked:
"Which service, the 8:30 or the 10:45?"

Here’s a blooper from my desk calendar:
Those hefty N’Awlins gals
“…Later, a tow truck also got stuck in the canal while trying to help two other vehicles, [said spokesman Joe] Pugia, adding that the land was probably unstable because of the recent dry weather. A flatbed truck equipped with wenches rescued all three vehicles in the late afternoon.”
From the New Orleans Times-Picayune
Happy Father's Day to all us fathers.
